Zeolite
Zeolite is thermally altered clay that is quarried from an area near Rotorua in the North Island of New Zealand. It is dried, crushed screened and bagged into a range of particle sizes. Zeolite is a unique material that absorbs moisture, oil, odours, some gases and a range of cations. It's principal uses include; Sports turf amendment; addition at 6% to sand improves turf establishment, water retention and fertiliser efficiency. Potting mix additive; improves water retention and enhances nutrient transfer. We are currently working with a nutrient infused zeolite. This product, when available, can have either a certified organic status (loaded with naturally-occurring fertilisers) or a fully balanced synthetic slow release fertiliser rating. So, in addition to providing extra moisture retention and excellent nutrient transfer, it will also be a slow release fertiliser.
